This is the Seventh Annual Black Tie/White Cane Appreciation Banquet hosted by the National Federation of the Blind of Georgia.  The banquet will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Atlanta.

The Black Tie - White Cane Appreciation Banquet is our defining educational and fund-raising event, and has been titled to denote style and purpose.  The Black Tie is symbolic of the prestige and dignity that blind people strive to attain in a society somewhat indifferent to the needs of its blind citizens.  The White Cane is a tool used by the blind to independently travel throughout our environment, as viable productive members of our communities, and is recognized as a symbol of independence for blind people everywhere.  The banquet is an opportunity for us to express our appreciation to our members and friends for all their hard work over the past year in an enjoyable atmosphere of food and fellowship.
